Abstract

Dominant role in maintaining the body’s adaptive reserve assigned to complex neuro-immuno-endocrine interactions, which acts as a key element of the hypo thalamic-pituitary-adrenal system. Violation of consistency of compensatory-adaptive processes is the basis of the formation of a wide range of illnesses that can be allocated to the category of disadaptive conditions. Administration of small doses of a syn thetic analogue of the final effector of this system – cortisol, allows to modulate its functional activity, positively changing the adaptive mechanisms in conditions of stress.
